Vibrancy as Praxis: A Celebration of Women’s Vision in Immersive Art

On March 25th, the XR Women Museum opened its doors — virtually — to Vibrancy as Praxis, a groundbreaking exhibition that brings together 15 extraordinary artists working at the intersection of immersive technology, artificial intelligence, and women’s creative vision. From the very first moments of the opening, the exhibition pulsed with energy, curiosity, and a deep sense of possibility.

Praxis, the exhibition’s guiding concept, is not simply “doing.” It is doing that thinks, that resists, and that transforms. Each work in Vibrancy as Praxis embodies this philosophy, inviting viewers into spaces where memory, body, data, light, and code converge to create acts of imagination, reflection, and critical inquiry. These are works that insist on a broader, more inclusive vision of who shapes reality and how emerging technologies can be wielded.

The opening event offered a guided walkthrough through the exhibition, allowing attendees to move through the virtual spaces alongside the artists themselves. Viewers heard firsthand the inspirations, processes, and intentions behind each piece — from the ways AI and code intersect with the human body, to explorations of memory, identity, and emotion expressed through immersive experiences.

The exhibition features the work of:

Akilah Martinez, Yanna Casey, LMDESIGNS8, Charlene Nichols, Anatola Araba, Ines Said, Genevieve Guillaume, Sara Tink Mapelli, Vanessa Nawka, Alexis Zerafa, Lorna Okeng, Dina Khalil, Dot Cannon, Kat Moon, and Ned Shoaei.

Together, these artists represent a spectrum of approaches, mediums, and ideas. Some works play with light and spatial perception, drawing the viewer into entirely new sensory experiences. Others use data, AI, or interactive code to create environments that respond, evolve, or challenge. Across every work, there is a shared commitment to exploring the power and possibilities of technology while centering human experience, imagination, and perspective.

The exhibition is not just a showcase of talent; it is a space of vitality and engagement. Open 24/7, it allows anyone, anywhere, to explore these immersive environments, pause to reflect, and return again and again to discover new insights. The full livestream of the opening program — including the artist talks and guided tour — is also available for those who could not attend the live event, capturing the excitement, insight, and conversation from the opening day.

Directing and curating Vibrancy as Praxis has been an extraordinary joy. Bringing together this group of brilliant, inventive, and courageous artists has created a virtual space that celebrates the full vibrancy of women’s voices in technology-driven art. The exhibition is a reminder that immersive and AI-driven art is not only about tools and techniques but about imagination, perspective, and the power of women to shape the future of creative practice.

Whether you are exploring immersive art for the first time or are a seasoned observer of digital and AI-driven practices, Vibrancy as Praxis offers something transformative, provocative, and deeply engaging. We invite you to enter this virtual space, meet these remarkable artists, and experience the vibrancy, rigor, and wonder of their work.
